South to Gurmund and Vogelsang
Germund a little south of Heimbach tried another site on the Rursee but it was full.
From the site we visited Vogelsang by bus and the Evangelical church at Kall and cycled along the side of the Urftsee to the Urft dam.
The former National Ordensburg Vogelsang is one of the largest constructions of the National Socialist period. It was built between 1934 and 1941 and was designed to train future leaders of the National Socialist German Workers Party. (NSDAP) It was never completed and after WW2 it was used by the Belgium and British army for training.
Ride along the Urftsee to the dam looking across to Vogelsang.
