North Lapland
In beautiful sunshine taking the RV92 to Kaamanen and joining the E75 south to Inari, Lapland, lots of trees, a few lakes and not much else! We pulled into a lay-by for lunch and sat in the sun for a while. Arriving in Inari we visited the Siida museum with its village of Sami culture and Lapland nature. We’ve now put our feet down for 2 nights at a campsite on the shore of Lake Inari 2km from the village.
A day of rest! After a very long lie in we headed into town on our sausage tandem which was abandoned by the lake Inari. We walked along the river to a coffee shop opposite the museum we had visited previously. Had a delicious warm waffle between us & coffee, picked the brains of the very nice young man running the place and headed off on his suggestions of short walks. One along the lake to some rocks with views, the other onto the newly formed loop town trail some 6.4km. Perfect weather 18 degrees and sunny. After 2.5 hours we arrived back at our sausage thankful to see he was safe. We had a clear midnight sun to go with a great day.
