Valdepeñas Wine.
In the heart of La Mancha, on the road that runs between Madrid and Andalusia, you will find Valdepeñas, wine-making country with an excellent Designation of Origin.
Special mention should be made of the town's Plaza de España Square, with its white and blue façades, the blue is support to prevent flies, and the Asunción Parish Church, a beautiful Renaissance building. The town also has three museums. Wine is at the heart of the local economy, and the museum gives an insight into the history and the cultural notions surrounding the drink. We had a chance to visit one of the town's wineries.
The Dionisos La Bodega de las Estrellas where A traditional family winery that produces only with its own grapes, organic wines, wines made in clay jars without added sulphites ; with the goal of naturalness.
They integrate sustainability into processes and natural quality as elements of respect for the planet and the beings that inhabit it. They use the Lunar Calendar in the vineyards and wines and they explained it in a special way with the 4 elements: air, water, fire and earth. That define the ways of working and types of wines.
The wine we purchased spend 4 years the cave in a clay jar.
